NYCTOPHILIA (n.) : A LOVE OF DARKNESS OR NIGHT; FINDING RELAXATION OR COMFORT IN DARKNESS.

Self-proclaimed lover of literature, nighttime and the macabre, Notelle is an up-and-coming artist, writer and featured vocalist based out of Nashville, TN. Boasting a cumulative 50 million Spotify streams alone, coverage on both terrestrial and Sirius XM radio, features on over 20 editorial playlists, and 60+ tracks signed to over 15 labels, including Armada, Warner, Spinnin’, Sony and Ultra - she collaborates with Dance/EDM acts across the globe.

Prior to inking her writer deal with Connection Music (Glassnote Records' publishing arm) in October 2022, Notelle made a name for herself as a writer, featured vocalist and topliner in the Dance space - landing a sync placement in the Lexus IS “All In & More” Car Campaign, charting with Grammy-Nominated Dance acts, like Adventure Club and Zack Martino, and hitting #1 on iTunes Dance albums and #8 on Spotify’s US Album Debuts with her collaboration with Mitis. Her vocal sample pack with distributor Black Octopus Sounds, “Notelle Presents Nocturnal”, hit Splice at #34, becoming one of Black Octopus’ highest selling packs to date. Her samples can be heard around the world, one of which was featured in Gorgon City’s Defected NYE Set at Printworks London. Her recent tracks “Stutter” (Circus Recordings) and “Move My Feet” (Spinnin’ Deep) both hit Top Ten on Beatport’s Tech and Bass house charts, garnering support from top-tier acts like Dom Dolla, Seth Troxler, Hot Since 82 and Acraze.

Her success as a writer aside, Notelle is a powerhouse solo artist in her own right. Her two separate undergraduate degrees in English and Songwriting drive her to step outside of standard writing structure, helping her develop her own brand of genre-breaking “nightmare pop”. Likened to brooding, dark and industrial acts like Nine Inch Nails and MuteMath, she is unlike anything coming out of Nashville’s music scene. Don’t let her unsigned artist status fool you, however, as Notelle is an indie force to be reckoned with. This last year panned out to be a stand-out one for the alternative solo act, taking home the Grand Prize in the International Songwriting Competition for her original song “Sufjan Stevens”. Out of 21,000+ entries from over 150+ countries, Notelle placed as a finalist in five separate categories, ultimately claiming the overall winner’s $25,000 cash prize for her own. Previous winners include Tones and I, Kehlani , Vance Joy and Illenium.

Her debut EP “Nytophiliac” hit the SubModern specialty radio Album charts at #19, while the lead single, “Sufjan Stevens”, found its way to #15 on SubModern’s Singles chart. Selling out shows across her city, Notelle has managed to cut through the noisy, over-saturated, Nashville pop world, amassing support from local radio and television stations alike. After being recognized as a “genuine, revelatory breath of fresh air” by local press, and being twice featured on local news station WSMV, Notelle was selected by radio stations' WBUZ and WRLT as “Artist Of The Week”.  This success ultimately led to a management deal with Ken Komisar of Fundadores Music (formerly of Sony Music, Notting Hill Music and Ten Man Records). Needless to say, 2023 is shaping up to be a powerful year for this “must watch” artist and writer.
